İmâm-ı Rabbânî Ahmed-i Fârûkî · Imam-ı Rabbânî Ahmed-i Fârûkî

FIRST POINT The Messenger of Mercy, upon him be peace and blessings, commanded: "Whoever holds on to my Sunnah during the corruption of my ummah, he will receive the reward of a hundred martyrs."1 That is, "Whoever clings to my Sunnah during the time of corruption of my ummah, he can earn the reward and virtue of a hundred martyrs." Indeed, adhering to the Sunnah of the Prophet is of great value. Especially during the time when innovations spread, adhering to the Sunnah of the Prophet is even more precious. Especially during the time of the corruption of the ummah, following even the smallest etiquette of the Sunnah of the Prophet indicates a significant level of taqwa (piety) and a strong faith. Directly adhering to the Sunnah brings to mind the Messenger of Mercy, upon him be peace and blessings. That longing, that remembrance, transforms into a divine peace of remembrance. Even in the smallest dealings, even in the etiquette of eating,2 drinking,3 and sleeping,4 at the moment one follows the Sunnah of the Prophet, that ordinary action and natural deed becomes a meritorious worship and a lawful act. Because through that ordinary action, one considers the following of the Messenger of Mercy, upon him be peace and blessings, and realizes that there is an etiquette in the Sharia. And the realization comes that he is the owner of the Sharia. And the heart turns towards Allah, the True Sharer. One gains a kind of peace and worship. Therefore, based on this secret, the one who makes adherence to the Sunnah of the Prophet a habit, turns his habits into worship, and can make his entire life blessed and meritorious. SECOND POINT The Righteous Imam Ahmed al-Faruqi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "While I was ascending in spiritual vision, among the ranks of the awliya (saints), I saw the most luminous, most majestic, most refined, and most secure ones as those who took adherence to the Sunnah of the Prophet as the basis of their path. Indeed, the most prominent of that rank appeared even more magnificent than the most distinguished saints of other ranks."5

Indeed, the most prominent of that rank appeared even more magnificent than the most distinguished saints of other ranks."5

SECOND POINT Imam al-Rabbānī, Ahmad al-Fārūqī (may Allah be pleased with him), said: "While I was ascending in spiritual vision through the ranks, among the categories of the pious, I saw the most luminous, the most majestic, the most refined, and the most secure ones were those who took adherence to the Sunnah of the Prophet as the basis of their path. Indeed, the most outstanding among that category of the pious appeared even more magnificent than the best of the pious from other categories."
